In line with its commitment to the PLANET, as set out in its Environmental and Climate Change Policy, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas works actively to minimize its impact on climate change, increase resource efficiency, and develop increasingly sustainable services. All of this is aimed at reducing the Company’s environmental footprint through the responsible use of natural resources.
For the Company, tackling climate change is a key strategic pillar. With the objective of advancing in the definition and strengthening of its climate strategy, an analysis was carried out to assess Minor Hotels Europe & Americas’ current position in relation to the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), as well as to identify the steps required to progressively align with this framework.
As a result of this analysis, an exercise was undertaken to enhance the current methodology used to identify and assess exposure to physical and transition risks, as well as the opportunities associated with climate change. This exercise incorporated a higher level of detail in the identification of these risks and opportunities, while also considering short-, medium- and long-term time horizons.
The Company’s environmental strategy is articulated through a roadmap aimed at advancing decarbonization, efficient resource management, and the adoption of a responsible and circular consumption model. To achieve this, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas relies on three main lines of action:
