Alliances and Recognitions


Minor Hotels Europe & Americas promotes strategic alliances and collaboration in sustainability. The Company is aware of the importance of collaboration between institutions in order to comply with the sustainable development agenda. Accordingly, the Company establishes alliances based on common principles, values and goals with different organizations, whether in the public or private sector, at world, regional, national and local level.

Minor Hotels Europe & Americas adhered to the United Nations Global Compact in 2006, following its 10 principles as an internal reference framework for designing the Corporate Responsibility strategy and management. Additionally, we also adhered to “Responsible Tourism: A Commitment Shared by All”, an initiative led by the Global Compact and the World Tourism Organization that includes the signing of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. The purpose of this project is to make progress in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility within Spain’s tourism sector and help businesses within the industry meet their ethical and sustainable development commitments.

These are the awards and recognitions obtained in recent years, which reflect our commitment to continue advancing on this path.

GENDER EQUALITY AWARDS 2024. Minor Hotels Europe & Americas was a finalist in the Gender Equality Awards from the Equality in Tourism organization. 

RESPONSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE TOURISM AWARDS.

Our corporate volunteer programme ‘Together with Love’ recognised by the Intermundial Foundation at the 8th Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Awards held at 2025 Fitur.

FTSE4GOOD. Since 2013, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has been part of the FTSE4GOOD index and renews its presence year after year, thanks to the responsible management of the business and the improvements made. The index was created by the London Stock Exchange to help investors integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their decision making.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The Carbon Disclosure Project recognizes the work of leading global companies in the fight against climate change. In their most recent report, published in 2024, Minor Hotels Europe & Americas was given a B grade in its annual Climate Change ranking and in Water Security

ECOVADIS: Minor Hotels Europe & Americas has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal, placing it among the top 15% of companies rated by the organization. This recognition reflects its ongoing efforts in the areas of environment, human and labor rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, as well as its commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.

Certifications

BIOSCORE. Bioscore certification is based on the independent assessment of a hotel’s sustainability performance through a rating built on ESG criteria, to provide a global and standardized view of each hotel’s sustainability efforts. It is also independently audited and meets the criteria established by the Travalyst initiative. In the 2025 assessment, 99% of our hotel portfolio achieved this certification, and 81% improved their rating compared to the previous year.

GREEN KEY. Green Key is a leading international eco‑label that recognizes tourism establishments for their excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operations. Certified establishments must meet strict criteria—developed by the Foundation for Environmental Education—and undergo regular audits and independent verification to ensure compliance with the programme’s standards. Currently, we have 89 certified hotels in our portfolio, all of which display this distinction on their website.
